FROM CRAFT TO CLICKS

Bringing a 20+ year furniture manufacturing legacy into a modern digital storefront

Antique Furniture House had decades of experience in handcrafted furniture manufacturing, serving retailers, wholesalers, hospitality businesses and interior designers across international markets.

But that expertise needed a digital platform that could communicate the same level of craftsmanship, scale and professionalism online.

The Challange

  • No modern digital storefront to present AFH's furniture collections to global buyers
  • Large and diverse product range needed a clear, intuitive catalogue structure
  • No unified way to showcase collections alongside individual furniture categories
  • Manufacturing capabilities and craftsmanship were not being communicated effectively online
  • Product discovery needed to work equally well for retail buyers, wholesalers, designers and hospitality clients
  • The website needed to support enquiries and purchasing journeys without compromising the premium brand experience
  • The platform had to remain manageable for the internal team without requiring constant technical intervention

Turning Craftsmanship into a Digital Experience

We approached the project as more than a website redesign — it was a digital transformation of an established furniture manufacturing brand.

The objective was to translate Antique Furniture House's physical-world strengths — craftsmanship, manufacturing expertise, material quality and export capability — into a digital experience that could communicate those strengths immediately to a global audience.

The website was built on WordPress, with a customized frontend and commerce architecture tailored specifically to AFH's catalogue and business model.

Rather than forcing the business into a standard furniture-store template, the platform was structured around two complementary discovery paths: Collections for curated brand storytelling and Furniture Categories for practical product discovery.

The result was a platform that combines the visual language of a premium furniture brand with the functional requirements of a manufacturer, exporter and wholesale supplier.

Built Around the Way Furniture Is Discovered

Built to Showcase. Designed to Convert.

Collection-Led Product Architecture

Dedicated collection structures for AFH's curated ranges, including Bohemian, Meubles, Relique, Wildera, Caneva and Panvi, allowing buyers to explore the brand through distinct design identities.

Category-Based Furniture Discovery

A structured furniture catalogue covering Beds & Nightstands, Dining, Bedroom, Living, Buffets & Sideboards, Bookshelves & Wardrobes, Chairs & Stools, Tables and Live Resin, with further sub-categorisation for easier product discovery.

Premium Product Presentation

Product pages and catalogue layouts designed to put the furniture itself at the centre of the experience, with strong visual emphasis on form, material, finish and craftsmanship.

Custom Furniture Positioning

The platform communicates AFH's ability to move beyond catalogue products into custom-made furniture and large-scale contract manufacturing, supporting buyers with requirements beyond standard retail purchasing.

Manufacturing Process Showcase

A dedicated process narrative communicates the production journey from timber selection and precision joinery through inspection, treatment, polishing, client approval and export packing.

Manufacturing Capability Showcase

The website presents AFH's Jodhpur manufacturing infrastructure, combining modern machinery with skilled craftsmanship and highlighting capabilities around kiln seasoning, joinery, hand detailing, polishing and scalable production.

Quality Assurance Storytelling

Instead of relying only on “premium quality” messaging, the platform explains the actual quality-control process, including raw inspection, moisture checks, finishing consistency and pre-dispatch approval.

Brand-Led Visual System

Typography, spacing, imagery, layouts and content hierarchy were customised to establish a premium visual identity appropriate for a globally positioned furniture manufacturer.

Making a Traditional Business Feel Native to the Digital World

This project involved more than putting a catalogue online. Antique Furniture House already had the manufacturing capability, product knowledge and industry experience. The challenge was translating those offline strengths into a digital experience that felt credible to an international buyer seeing the company for the first time. The implementation required careful consideration of how products, collections, categories, manufacturing information and brand storytelling would coexist without making the website feel like a conventional catalogue.

WordPress provided the flexibility required for the project while allowing the platform to remain practical for long-term content and product management. The frontend was extensively customised around AFH's visual identity and business requirements, with the experience designed to feel closer to a premium furniture brand than a generic e-commerce template.

Particular attention was given to the relationship between product discovery and trust-building. Visitors can move from a furniture piece or collection into the wider story of how AFH manufactures, inspects, finishes and prepares its products for domestic and international markets. The result was a digital platform that doesn't simply display furniture — it communicates the capability behind it.

A Furniture Business That Now Speaks for Itself

From a manufacturing business to a stronger digital brand presence The launch of the Antique Furniture House website created a more structured digital presence for a company with more than two decades of furniture manufacturing experience.

  • AFH gained a dedicated digital storefront for presenting its furniture collections and product categories to a global audience
  • Customers can explore products through both curated collections and structured furniture categories
  • The website provides greater visibility into AFH’s manufacturing processes, quality standards and production capabilities
  • Custom manufacturing, wholesale, hospitality and export capabilities are now communicated as part of the brand experience rather than through offline conversations alone
  • The platform creates a more professional first touchpoint for international retailers, designers, sourcing teams and project buyers
  • A structured WordPress-based backend provides a practical foundation for managing and expanding the catalogue over time.

What We Learned Building the Digital Face of a Manufacturer

For a large furniture catalogue, simply adding products is not enough. The distinction between collections, furniture categories and subcategories creates a much more usable discovery experience.

AFH's process — from timber selection to export packing — was treated as part of the product story, helping communicate the expertise behind every piece.

The platform was designed to speak simultaneously to consumers, retailers, wholesalers, hospitality businesses, interior designers and international buyers.

Photography, typography, navigation, content hierarchy, product presentation and manufacturing storytelling all contribute to whether a furniture business feels premium and globally credible.

The project demonstrates how a customised WordPress implementation can provide the flexibility required for a substantial furniture catalogue while remaining practical for day-to-day management.

The deeper objective was to translate AFH's physical manufacturing capability, craftsmanship and international orientation into a digital-first customer experience.
